Warren Buffet says if you’re not learning for at least 5 hours a week, you’re going backwards. He’s earning a pretty penny and is a known philanthropist (so he returns plenty). So he’s doing all three in parallel.

But what does this concept have to do with the rest of us?

Ever walked away from an experience feeling ‘empty-handed’? Feeling like you didn’t get much out of it?

Imagine if you got something out of every single interaction. Imagine the change in your confidence, self-esteem and resilience levels.

So give this approach a try:

  • If you took a risk or made a pitch recently and it paid off – you’re earning.
  • If it didn’t work out, and you’ve worked out why – you’re learning.
  • And in the meantime, try helping out. Offer your time, money or advice – it doesn’t matter. Helping releases the same endorphins as sex and chocolate – you’re returning.
